The dates and theme for National Apprenticeship Week 2018 have been announced. It will run from 5 to 9 March 2018 and be all about showcasing how ‘Apprenticeships Work’ for individuals, employers, the community, and the wider economy. Employers and apprentices from across England will come together to celebrate the success of apprenticeships and encourage even more people to choose apprenticeships as a pathway to a successful career.

Now in its 11th year, National Apprenticeship Week is coordinated by the National Apprenticeship Service. As one of the UK’s leading apprenticeship providers to the public sector, we are looking forward to getting involved by sharing our employer and learner success stories using the campaign hashtag #NAW2018. We also plan on getting involved in events that will be taking place during the week and hopefully running one of our own – watch this space!

The introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy earlier this year has started to change perceptions about apprenticeships, highlighting that they are not just for young people at entry level but can be used to upskill your whole workforce, and also that they can have a huge impact on increasing productivity and boosting the economy/social mobility, especially in the light of Brexit.

We are obviously big believers in apprenticeships and with 5,000+ apprentices currently on programme and a pass rate of 98.5%, we have a lot of success stories to tell! We are looking forward to launching into some very exciting areas including the new Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship and look forward to rolling out our work on the Crown Commercial Services Apprenticeships Framework. National Apprenticeship Week will be a great opportunity to celebrate how the UK public sector is leading the way in apprenticeships that are fit for the workforce of the future.
